Where it came from
Mobile Suit Gundam UC: One of Seventy Two was produced by Sunrise in 2013 as a special promotional short film to accompany the release of the sixth episode of the Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn OVA series. Designed to serve as a high-end tie-in for the Gundam Front Tokyo attraction, the project utilized the unique Dome-G theater format to immerse viewers in a high-stakes combat scenario involving the titular mobile suits.
The narrative focuses on the mysterious history of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam and its connection to the Laplace's Box prophecy. The production was overseen by the creative teams behind the broader Unicorn series, aiming to leverage advanced 3D computer-generated imagery to create a visceral experience for fans visiting the Odaiba exhibition, emphasizing the scale and mechanical detail that define the franchise's technical legacy.
