Where it came from
The fourth season of Mr. Osomatsu, produced by Studio Pierrot and released in 2025, continues the chaotic legacy of the Matsuno sextuplets. Following the series' successful 2015 revival, which reimagined Fujio Akatsuka's original 1962 manga characters as adult NEETs, this installment maintains the franchise's signature blend of surreal slapstick, meta-humor, and cynical social commentary that has defined the modern iteration of the series.
The production builds upon the stylistic evolution directed by Yoichi Fujita, who transitioned the series from a nostalgic homage into a satirical powerhouse. The design language retains the minimalist, retro-inspired aesthetic of the original manga while incorporating contemporary digital animation techniques. The season aims to balance the established dynamics of the eccentric brothers with fresh experimental narratives, reflecting the series' history of pushing the boundaries of traditional late-night television formatting.
