Where it came from
My Hand, Her Hand is a poignant animated short produced by Geidai Animation, the prestigious graduate program at Tokyo University of the Arts. The film emerged from a creative environment known for fostering experimental storytelling and artistic rigor, reflecting the school's commitment to pushing the boundaries of traditional Japanese animation techniques.
The film is celebrated for its delicate, intimate approach to narrative and its restrained visual style. Like many projects developed within the Geidai program, the work focuses on the nuances of human connection, utilizing a hand-drawn aesthetic to evoke a sense of vulnerability. It was well-received on the international festival circuit for its emotional depth and the quiet craftsmanship characteristic of the studio's alumni.
