Where it came from
Nanatsu-iro★Drops originated as an adult visual novel developed by Unisonshift, released in 2006. Due to the popularity of its character designs and fantasy setting, the studio diomedéa produced an anime adaptation that aired in 2007. The series follows a student who accidentally consumes a potion that transforms him into a stuffed animal, tasking him with collecting star drops to return to his human form.
The character designs were overseen by Noizi Ito, who was instrumental in defining the aesthetic of the series. Her work, known for its soft, pastel-toned appeal, was central to the franchise's identity. The anime was received as a lighthearted fantasy romance, staying true to the visual novel's tone while adapting the narrative to a television format suitable for a wider audience.
