Where it came from
Narumi's Week at Work was produced by Production I.G as a special tie-in project released in 2026. It was conceived as a lighthearted, episodic look at the mundane professional life of its titular character, serving to expand the world-building of the broader franchise by focusing on character-driven, slice-of-life vignettes that contrast with the high-stakes narratives often associated with the studio's major action-oriented titles.
The visual design and storyboard direction were overseen by creative leads at Production I.G, who aimed for a softer, more grounded aesthetic to differentiate the project from the studio's standard catalogue. Upon release, the work was received by the audience as a thoughtful, low-key character study, appreciated by fans for its focus on atmospheric storytelling and the subtle development of Narumi's professional growth.
