Naruto: The Lost Story—Mission: Protect the Waterfall Village was produced by Studio Pierrot in 2003 as a special original video animation, or OVA, intended for screening at the Jump Festa event in Japan. It was created during the early height of the Naruto anime’s success, designed to provide fans with an expanded narrative experience outside of the primary television serialization.
