Nee Shitteru kai

Nee Shitteru kai, which translates roughly to Do You Know?, is a notable series of short educational animated segments produced by NHK in the early 1980s. These pieces were designed to provide viewers with brief, digestible facts about history, nature, and cultural trivia, serving as a staple of Japanese public broadcasting's children's programming during that era.

The aesthetic of the series is defined by its distinct, minimalist animation style, which prioritized clarity and charm to engage a young audience. By blending whimsical character designs with reliable information, the creators established a format that felt both authoritative and approachable, leaving a lasting impression on a generation of viewers who grew up with NHK's daytime educational block.
