Where it came from
Ni Zai Xingguang Shenchu, known in English as Deep in the Starlight, is a Chinese original net animation produced by Wawayu Animation. The series emerged as part of the studio's broader efforts to expand its presence in the domestic digital animation market, focusing on themes that blend fantasy elements with character-driven emotional narratives typical of the web-based animation landscape in China.
The production reflects the studio's signature visual style, which emphasizes polished digital character modeling and atmospheric lighting effects designed to enhance the sentimental tone of the storytelling. Upon its release, the series was received as a niche but technically competent entry in the studio's portfolio, aimed primarily at younger audiences engaged with the rapid growth and accessibility of domestic streaming platforms.
