Where it came from
No Doubt in Us, known in Chinese as Bu Liang Ren, is a prominent web animation series produced by Paper Plane Animation Studio. Debuting in 2017, the series originated as a 3D animated ONA (Original Net Animation) adapted from a popular manhua. It centers on a body-swapping premise between an emperor and an empress, blending historical fantasy elements with a narrative focus on their evolving relationship as they navigate the complexities of court life in their swapped forms.
The series is noted for its distinct aesthetic that bridges traditional Chinese artistic influences with modern 3D rendering techniques. Designed to appeal to a broad demographic interested in historical fantasy, the show received positive attention for its character-driven storytelling and high-quality production values within the domestic Chinese animation market. It became a flagship title for the studio, expanding into a significant franchise that includes multiple seasons, spin-offs, and an established fanbase within the streaming landscape.
