I wish to have you by my left shoulder, with a smile by my right—I wish to run freely in your eyes. —I wish for one look to last a lifetime.
Jiang Cheng, an accomplished student, was "exiled" to the steel mill where his biological father worked. This strange, foreign environment, coupled with his rather vulgar biological father, caused Jiang Cheng to feel quite depressed. That is, until one day, he met Gu Fei, the "Delinquent of the Steel Mill", by chance. Thus begins the story of Jiang Cheng and Gu Fei, a story of salvation and hope.

Where it came from
Nuan Yang, also known as Warm Sun, emerged as a notable entry in the landscape of Chinese original net animation (ONA). Produced by Colored Pencil Animation, a studio recognized for its contribution to the modernization of domestic 2D animation, the project was developed to cater to a growing demographic of viewers seeking character-driven stories with a distinct regional aesthetic. It reflects a shift in the industry toward high-quality, serialized digital content released directly to streaming platforms.
The creative direction behind the series focused on balancing fluid, expressive character movement with thematic warmth. By utilizing a contemporary visual language, the animators aimed to bridge the gap between traditional sensibilities and the expectations of a younger, internet-savvy audience. Upon its release, the project was generally well-received for its production polish, helping solidify the studio's reputation as a key player in the evolving ecosystem of Chinese online animation.
