There is an ancient legend that says if a tattoo is drawn to perfection, it will come to life. Reiko Kure is a female detective with a strange massacre on her hands. Some kind of huge animal savagely murdered thirteen members of the mafia, and only the quiet Ema Nozomi was left at the scene. Ema is taken into protective custody. However, every man left with her is killed, and every woman left with her is raped. There are no clues, except the innocent Ema's strange tattoo, perfectly depicting a demon.

Where it came from
Released in 2000, Oni-Tensei is an original video animation produced by the studio AIC. The title emerged during a period when the studio was heavily engaged in exploring dark, mature, and supernatural themes within the OVA format, which allowed for production values that often surpassed standard television animation of the time. The work serves as a reflection of late nineties trends in Japanese horror-influenced anime, focusing on occult narratives and stylized character design.
The animation was crafted under the banner of AIC's experimental efforts to capture niche demographics through edgy, self-contained storytelling. While the title remains an obscure entry in the studio's extensive catalog, it illustrates the industry's historical pivot toward direct-to-video releases that prioritized atmospheric tension and dark aesthetic choices over traditional mainstream appeal. It is regarded by collectors as a modest piece of the broader AIC archive, capturing a specific moment in the studio’s transition into the new millennium.
