Onii-chan no Koto nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne!! Special

The Onii-chan no Koto nanka Zenzen Suki Janain Dakara ne!! special was produced by studio ZEXCS in 2011 as a supplemental release following the conclusion of the television anime adaptation. The original franchise began as a light novel series written by Kouichi Kusano and illustrated by Kouji Ogata, known for its focus on the 'tsundere' archetype and complex sibling dynamics. This special was developed to provide additional content for fans, expanding on the comedic and romantic interactions established during the show's broadcast run.

The visual direction for the special maintained the stylistic choices of the primary ZEXCS series, emphasizing vibrant character designs and the specific, hyperbolic emotional expressions synonymous with the light novel's source material. The production aimed to lean into the playful, genre-aware nature of the original story, which was met with a niche but dedicated reception among enthusiasts of harem-style romantic comedies during the early 2010s. It remains a characteristic example of the era's light-novel-to-anime pipeline.
