Oniku Daisuki! Zeushi-kun

Oniku Daisuki! Zeushi-kun was released in 2014 as a promotional ONA series produced by the animation studio DLE, known for its distinctive Flash-animation style. The project was commissioned by the Japanese meat industry association, Zen-Noh, specifically to promote domestic beef consumption among younger demographics. By utilizing a quirky, surreal comedic narrative involving a prince of the meat world visiting Earth, the studio aimed to make the concept of agricultural branding more accessible and entertaining for a digital-native audience.

The character design and visual direction were crafted to align with DLE's signature low-frame-rate aesthetic, which prioritize humorous dialogue and absurdity over fluid traditional animation. The series received modest attention upon release for its bizarre premise and catchy theme song, becoming a notable example of Japanese 'infomercial anime.' While not intended as a mainstream commercial hit, it remains a documented instance of corporate public relations using niche subculture media to influence consumer trends.
