So, President Spheros teaches Pac and his pals the legend prophesizing a round yellow Pac-Worlder rescuing the planet. Pac, the only round yellow citizen, is the man for the job. Where it came from
Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures was developed as a CGI-animated television series by 41 Entertainment and Sprite Animation Studios, premiering in 2013 with episodes airing through 2015. The project was commissioned by Bandai Namco to modernize the iconic Pac-Man franchise for a younger, contemporary audience, moving away from the abstract nature of the classic arcade game to a narrative-driven format set in the futuristic Pac-World.
The series was designed to shift the character into an action-adventure context, casting Pac-Man as a teenage student who defends his home from the ghosts of the Netherworld. Overseen by Avi Arad, the show utilized a distinct 3D visual style to differentiate itself from traditional 2D animation, though its departure from the minimalist aesthetic of the original 1980s property received mixed feedback from longtime fans of the franchise who preferred the original arcade iteration.
