Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: The Little Detective

Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: The Little Detective, also known as Xi Yang Yang Zhi Xiao Zhen Tan, is a significant spin-off installment within the immensely popular Chinese animated franchise created by Creative Power Entertaining. Developed to expand the narrative horizon of the original series, this season shifted the focus toward mystery-solving, blending the show's signature slapstick humor with structured investigative storytelling to engage a slightly more analytical audience while maintaining the core appeal of the long-running rivalry between the inhabitants of Green Green Grassland and the hungry wolves.

The production design reflects the aesthetic evolution of the franchise, which has been characterized by vibrant, high-contrast character models and simplified, functional backgrounds designed for television accessibility. While the visual direction was led by the franchise's central animation team in Guangzhou, the creative intent was to reinvigorate the series' longevity by placing established archetypes into genre-specific scenarios. Upon its release, the series was received as a reliable contribution to the franchise, lauded by local audiences for keeping the familiar spirit of the characters intact while offering a refreshing change in narrative pace.
