Pokémon 4D: Pikachu's Ocean Adventure

Pikachu's Ocean Adventure was produced in 2006 by OLM, Inc. as a specialized 4D theater attraction, originally commissioned for the Pokémon The Park 2005 (PokéPark) exhibitions in Japan. Designed as an immersive sensory experience, the short film utilized environmental effects such as water sprays and motion-synchronized seating to bring the world of Pokémon to life for park attendees. It represents a brief period in the mid-2000s when the Pokémon franchise heavily invested in location-based entertainment to broaden its reach beyond traditional television and film broadcast models.

The animation style follows the distinct aesthetic established by the long-running Pokémon anime series, focusing on the character dynamics between Pikachu and other iconic creatures as they explore a seaside environment. While it was not designed for a standard home media release, its limited exhibition windows have made it a notable curiosity for franchise completists. The film was well-regarded by park visitors for its technical integration, serving as a successful example of how the studio adapted its established character-driven storytelling for the specific demands of a theme park installation.
