Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos The Movie: Part 2

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Cosmos The Movie: Part 2 serves as the grand finale of the long-running Sailor Moon franchise, adapting the final 'Stars' arc of Naoko Takeuchi's original manga. Released in 2023, the film was produced by Toei Animation in collaboration with Studio DEEN, marking a return to the aesthetic roots of the series while utilizing modern digital animation techniques to bring the intense cosmic stakes of the Sailor Cosmos story to a cinematic conclusion.

The film's visual identity was overseen by character designer Kazuko Tadano, who famously returned to the franchise after having served as the character designer for the original 1990s anime. By blending her classic, soft-edged art style with the high-fidelity production values expected of contemporary theatrical features, the creative team aimed to provide a definitive and nostalgic send-off that honored both the manga's dark, dramatic tone and the visual legacy of the series' decades-long history.
