Pucca 3

Pucca originally debuted in 2000 as a series of Flash-animated shorts created by the South Korean company VOOZ Co., Ltd. The character, a young girl living in a village in China, gained international fame through her minimalist design and high-energy, slapstick-driven narratives involving her pursuit of a ninja named Garu. The television series, often referred to as Pucca or Pucca: Funny Love, expanded these shorts into full-length episodes that aired globally throughout the mid-2000s, solidifying the character as a pop-culture icon.

The aesthetic of the Pucca franchise was heavily influenced by traditional East Asian motifs mixed with modern, bold graphic design. The visuals were intentionally kept clean and simple to facilitate their original digital-first distribution, utilizing a distinct color palette centered on red and black. The series was well-received for its non-verbal storytelling and energetic pacing, which allowed it to transcend language barriers and become a staple of youth entertainment across both Asian and Western markets during the early 2000s.
