Puniru is a Kawaii Slime Season 2

Puniru is a Kawaii Slime, or Puniru wa Kawaii Slime, originated as a digital manga series by Maeda-kun, serialized on the Sunday Webry platform starting in 2022. The series centers on the comedic and endearing relationship between a young boy and a shape-shifting slime named Puniru. Its transition to an animated format is part of a broader trend of adapting popular digital-first manga titles that emphasize character-driven humor and whimsical design aesthetics.

The second season, produced by TOHO animation STUDIO, continues the adaptation of the source material's established art style, which relies on expressive, fluid character animation to capture Puniru's varied forms. The production aims to maintain the high-energy, lighthearted tone that garnered a dedicated following for the manga. As a 2025 release, the series reflects the studio's commitment to expanding its portfolio of contemporary comedy anime, balancing the original's niche appeal with the broader production values expected of a major studio project.
