In a convenient world where vending machines offer just about everything, the hero procures whatever he needs from machines on his journey to see the creator. He tries to make a replacement purchase of the earth. But the creator declines his request, saying simply that there is no such thing as a brand new earth. The simplicity of the story illustrates the depths of Tezuka Osamu's despair at earths degradation, forming the gist of this 4 minute work.

Where it came from
Released in 1987, Push was a direct-to-video film directed by Kevin Connor, emerging during a decade defined by the rapid expansion of home entertainment markets. The film was conceived as a low-budget psychological thriller, reflecting the era's reliance on contained, character-driven narratives that could be produced efficiently for the burgeoning rental industry.
The film's design leaned into the moody, noir-inspired aesthetic popular in late eighties independent genre cinema. While it aimed to build tension through its confined setting and deliberate pacing, the production faced the common challenges of limited resources, leading to a modest critical reception that largely relegated it to the status of a niche curiosity for dedicated collectors of 1980s direct-to-video suspense.
