Q Transformers: Saranaru Ninki Mono e no Michi

Q Transformers: Saranaru Ninki Mono e no Michi, released in 2015, serves as the second season of the Q Transformers animated series. Produced by DLE Inc. and directed by Kōtarō Ishidate, the series was created to promote the Q Transformers line of miniature, stylized Transformers figures produced by Takara Tomy. These figures were noted for their distinct 'chibi' aesthetic and their ability to transform between vehicle modes and stylized robot forms, often featuring exaggerated proportions intended to appeal to a younger demographic and collectors of desk-sized novelty items.

The series adopts a metafictional and comedic tone, featuring the main Transformers—Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Lockdown—engaging in improvised-style banter. This creative direction was a departure from the action-oriented storytelling typical of the franchise, focusing instead on the characters discussing the nature of their own figures and the broader Transformers brand. The reception was localized primarily to the Japanese market, where it was praised by fans of low-budget, experimental animation and those who enjoyed the self-deprecating humor directed at the toy line itself.
