Qixing Lu Wanggong

Qixing Lu Wanggong, also known as The Seven Stars Palace of Lu, was produced by iQIYI as an original net animation series. It belongs to the broader The Lost Tomb franchise, an adaptation of the popular adventure-novel series by Xu Lei. The project was developed to capitalize on the sustained interest in the tomb-raiding genre in Chinese media, specifically focusing on the mysterious underworld lore that serves as the foundation for the original books.

The production utilized 3D computer animation to bring the intricate traps and supernatural environments of the series to life. The design philosophy centered on maintaining the gritty, suspenseful atmosphere of the source material while appealing to a younger, digitally native audience. Upon its release, it received attention primarily from existing fans of the franchise who were eager to see the iconic tomb settings translated into a visual medium, contributing to the expansion of the broader literary IP into the streaming space.
