The hero, Rambutan, fights against a rival inside an old convertible launched at high speed. His opponent manages to rush him out of the vehicle and then bends over the hero’s girlfriend who desperately resists by kicking him in the face. Meanwhile, Rambutan catches up with the car running. He throws himself on his enemy and gets rid of him then kisses his girlfriend. The rival arises again, separates the two lovers and he and Rambutan fight again. The cycle resumes.

Where it came from
Ranputan no Bouken, known in English as Koro's Big Day Out, was produced by Studio Ghibli in 2001. It is a short film originally commissioned exclusively for screening at the Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, Japan. The project was conceived as part of Hayao Miyazaki's broader vision for the museum, which aimed to create an intimate, immersive cinematic experience that differed from the studio's major theatrical releases.
Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, the film follows the adventures of a small puppy named Koro who wanders away from his home and explores the streets of a suburban town. The design reflects Miyazaki's signature hand-drawn aesthetic, prioritizing charm and naturalistic motion over complex narrative arcs. Upon its release, it was warmly received by museum visitors as a gentle, slice-of-life vignette that highlights the studio's meticulous attention to background detail and quiet observation.
