Recorder to Randoseru Mi☆ Special

Recorder to Randoseru Mi☆ is a 2013 special episode produced by Studio Seven, serving as a direct continuation of the anime adaptation of Piya Higashiyama's manga series. The series chronicles the comedic, often awkward daily lives of Atsushi, a fifth-grader who looks like a fully grown adult, and his older sister Atsumi, who is a high schooler with a petite, child-like stature. This special was developed to extend the narrative following the conclusion of the second season, maintaining the franchise's central theme of physical reversal and the resulting social misunderstandings.

The animation style, overseen by Studio Seven, prioritizes the manga’s distinct character designs, which lean into the visual humor of the protagonists' mismatched appearances. The direction aims to balance slapstick comedy with the mundane struggles of middle school and high school life. Upon release, the series and its associated specials were received as niche entries in the comedy genre, noted for their ability to derive humor from the stark contrast between the characters' biological ages and their physical developments.
