ReLIFE

ReLIFE originated as a digital manga series serialized on the Comico app, written and illustrated by So Yayoi. The narrative follows Arata Kaizaki, a twenty-seven-year-old man struggling with his career, who is offered a chance to participate in a social experiment by taking a pill that reverts his physical appearance to that of a teenager. This allows him to attend high school for one year, providing him with a unique opportunity to address his regrets and fundamentally change his perspective on adult life.

The 2016 anime adaptation was produced by TMS Entertainment and released as an original net animation, or ONA, meaning all thirteen episodes were made available simultaneously on the Comico platform. Director Tomo Kosaka aimed to capture the sentimental, character-driven tone of the source material, focusing on the slow-burn emotional development of the protagonist. It was well-received by audiences for its realistic portrayal of workplace burnout and the challenges of the transition into adulthood, standing out in a genre often dominated by more traditional high school fantasy elements.
