ReLIFE: Final Arc

ReLIFE: Final Arc was produced by TMS Entertainment as a four-episode conclusion to the anime adaptation of Soichiro Yamamoto’s popular web manga, which was serialized on the Comico platform. Following the 2016 television series that covered the primary development of the protagonist Arata Kaizaki’s social experiment, these OVAs were released in 2018 to adapt the remaining chapters of the source material. The studio aimed to provide a definitive resolution to the romantic and character arcs that had been established in the earlier episodes, condensing a substantial amount of late-stage manga content into a focused, four-part narrative.

The production sought to maintain the visual style and emotional tone established in the original run, emphasizing the themes of personal growth and the fleeting nature of high school experiences. Directed by Tomo Kosaka, the project was designed to satisfy fans who felt the initial television series ended prematurely relative to the manga's concluding narrative beats. It was received as a necessary completion of the series, praised by viewers for successfully wrapping up the complex relationship between Arata and Chizuru Hishiro within the constraints of a shorter runtime.
