Re:Stage! Dream Days

Re:Stage! Dream Days was released in 2019 as the animated adaptation of the multimedia franchise created by Pony Canyon and monthly magazine Comptiq. The series serves as the centerpiece of the project, which follows the story of Mana Shikimiya and her fellow students at Takao Omiya Middle School as they form an idol group to revive their school's performing arts club. Produced by Yumeta Company and Graphinica, the anime was intended to expand the reach of the franchise beyond its original mobile game and light novel iterations, leaning into the high-energy, character-driven formula typical of the idol subgenre.

The production utilized a digital animation style aimed at capturing the vibrant aesthetics of the franchise's character designs, which were originally conceptualized by illustrator Tsubasu Izumi. The team focused on emphasizing the technical aspects of stage performance through choreographed musical sequences, integrating 3D animation for dance segments to maintain consistency. Upon release, the series was received as a sincere entry within the idol medium, valued by fans for its focus on the camaraderie and interpersonal growth of its cast rather than purely competitive stakes.
