Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Kyuukei Jikan (Break Time) 2nd Season Part 2

Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Kyuukei Jikan, or Re:Zero -Starting Break Time From Zero-, is a series of short-form original net animation episodes designed to complement the main Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World- anime. Produced by Studio PuYUKAI, this segment focuses on the chibi-style adventures of the characters, acting as a humorous and lighthearted palette cleanser following the intense events of the main narrative. The second season's second part specifically serves to bridge gaps in the plot and provide additional character depth in a non-canon, comedic format.

The animation style, characterized by simplified designs and exaggerated expressions, was directed by Minoru Ashina, a prominent figure in the 'chibi' animation space. Ashina’s goal was to leverage the contrast between the high-stakes drama of the main series and the cozy, experimental nature of these shorts. Upon release in 2021, the segments were well-received by fans of the franchise for their ability to maintain the personality of the characters while offering a refreshing break from the darker themes presented in the second season of the main anime.
