Where it came from
Chibi☆Rolling☆Girls Korokoro Gekijou was produced by Wit Studio in 2015 as a companion series of short-form comedy sketches accompanying the original anime project The Rolling Girls. These segments were designed to provide a lighter, more whimsical counterpoint to the main show's high-octane post-apocalyptic narrative, focusing on the comedic chemistry between the central four protagonists.
The animation style features a chibi aesthetic that leans into minimalist character design and rapid-fire visual gags. By stripping back the complex production values of the series proper, the creative team sought to expand the world-building of the Rolling Girls universe in a low-stakes, humorous format. The sketches were received by fans as a charming supplement that added depth to the characters' personalities beyond the primary plot.
