Upon their visit to a tropical island just below the equator, Mint and co. from Santa Company find themselves confronted with a mountain of ocean debris. Small acts of carelessness upon carelessness have, quite literally, piled up into a big problem—just what have Mint and the others gotten themselves into...? A splendid, yet strange, secret Christmas story.
Note: Santa Company is an original work brought to life by Kenji Itoso. A short animation was released in 2014 after a successful crowdfunding campaign, followed by a feature-length version released in Japan in 2019. This work is a spin-off featuring some of the same characters.

Where it came from
Santa Company: Manatsu no Merry Christmas was released in 2021 as a sequel to the 2014 original short film, Santa Company. Produced by Kenji Itoso and Studio Kenji Studio, the project originated from a successful crowdfunding campaign aimed at fostering Japanese independent animation. The narrative expands on the concept of a secret organization that delivers gifts to children, shifting the focus to a summer-set adventure that explores themes of friendship and the endurance of festive spirit regardless of the season.
The film represents a distinct entry in modern anime, characterized by its wholesome, family-oriented aesthetic. Itoso, who directed the project, maintained the franchise's emphasis on hand-drawn warmth and traditional character-driven storytelling. While it did not reach the scale of major studio features, the film was noted for its commitment to the original vision of the crowdfunding backers, serving as an expansion of the world-building established in the 2014 short.
