Schoolgirl Strikers Animation Channel

Schoolgirl Strikers: Animation Channel was produced by J.C.Staff and released in 2017 as an adaptation of a mobile role-playing game originally launched by Square Enix in 2014. The project was conceived as a way to expand the game's narrative universe, focusing on a group of high school students who are secret protectors of the world against entities known as 'Obers'. The animation team sought to balance typical slice-of-life school tropes with the action-heavy elements central to the source material's combat mechanics.

The character designs were handled by Kenichi Kawase, who aimed to translate the mobile game's distinct aesthetic into a cohesive television format. The production faced the challenge of maintaining interest for a large ensemble cast, each with unique abilities and personalities. Upon release, the series was received primarily by the existing player base as a complementary piece of media, noted for its bright color palette and adherence to the character archetypes established in the game.
