Seer 5 Da Dianying: Leishen Jueqi

Seer 5: Leishen Jueqi, or Rise of the Thunder God, was released in 2015 as the fifth installment in a long-running series of animated feature films produced by Taomee. The franchise originated from the company's immensely popular web-based game platform, Seer, which defined the childhood of many in China during the early 2010s by offering a science-fiction universe centered on robotic explorers and elemental creatures.

The film was designed to expand the narrative stakes of the source material, moving away from simple game-based world-building toward a more cinematic, high-fantasy aesthetic. Under Taomee’s internal creative direction, the animation team focused on vibrant color palettes and mechanical character designs that mirrored the game's evolution. While primarily received by the loyal younger audience who played the Seer browser game, the film is noted for its role in the commercial synergy between interactive digital media and feature-length animation in the Chinese market.
