Seito Shokun! Kokoro ni Midori no Neckerchief wo

Seito Shokun! Kokoro ni Midori no Neckerchief wo was produced as a television special by Fuji TV in 1986. It serves as an adaptation of Yoko Shoji’s long-running shōjo manga series Seito Shokun!, which began its serialization in the late 1970s. The narrative focuses on the idealistic and spirited schoolteacher Noriko Kitami, affectionately known as 'Ma-chan,' who navigates the complexities of guiding her students through their formative years.

The production sought to capture the earnest sentimentality and educational undertones central to the original manga. As a 1980s television special, the design and aesthetic choices reflect the era's focus on character-driven dramas that balanced domestic life with school-based conflicts. Upon its release, it was received as a nostalgic extension of the source material, appealing to audiences who had followed the evolution of the characters throughout the manga's decade-long run.
