Where it came from
Sekai wo Musubou, which translates to Let's Connect the World, was produced by NHK as a thematic song and visual project intended to foster global communication and cultural empathy. It emerged during a period when the Japanese public broadcaster was increasingly focusing on international cooperation themes, utilizing its reach to promote a message of unity through music and collaborative performance.
The composition features arrangements characteristic of NHK's high-production educational and cultural programming, often involving choirs or international ensembles to emphasize its message of connection. While it functions as a standalone media piece, it is deeply embedded in the legacy of NHK's mission to bridge geographic divides, reflecting a design philosophy that prioritizes accessible, harmonious melodies and evocative, world-spanning visuals.
