Shin Koihime†Musou: Otome Tairan OVA

Shin Koihime†Musou: Otome Tairan was released as an original video animation in 2011, serving as a concluding chapter to the anime adaptation of the visual novel series developed by BaseSon. Produced by studio Doga Kobo, the OVA was designed to provide closure for the characters following the conclusion of the Otome Tairan television series. It represents the final installment in the franchise's initial run, aiming to satisfy the existing fanbase by expanding on the harem-fantasy reimagining of the classic Chinese epic Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

The visual design and animation direction for this project maintained the aesthetic consistency of the preceding series, focusing on lighthearted character-driven narratives punctuated by the franchise's signature blend of comedy and tactical role-playing tropes. Doga Kobo emphasized expressive character designs and dynamic sequences that were characteristic of the studio's early 2010s output. While the franchise itself is noted for its niche appeal and extensive multimedia presence, the OVA was received primarily as a fan-focused epilogue rather than an attempt to broaden the series' thematic reach.
