Shin no Seijo de aru Watashi wa Tsuihou Saremashita. Dakara Kono Kuni wa Mou Owari desu, known in English as I Was Banished Because I Am the True Saint, So This Country Is Over, originated as a light novel series before being adapted into this 2027 television anime. Produced by Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab, the project emerged during a period of sustained market interest in the villainess and banished-heroine subgenres, which focus on protagonists navigating the consequences of being wrongfully exiled from their positions of power.

The production sought to capture the series' shift between lighthearted fantasy elements and the dramatic irony of a kingdom collapsing in the protagonist's absence. The studio aimed to translate the established character designs into a polished, fluid animation style consistent with modern high-fantasy trends. Upon its release, the adaptation was noted by enthusiasts for its commitment to the source material's tone, effectively balancing the internal character arcs with the escalating political crisis depicted in the narrative.
