Shuumatsu no Valkyrie Mini Anime

Shuumatsu no Valkyrie, released internationally as Record of Ragnarok, originated as a popular manga series by Shinya Umemura, Takumi Fukui, and Ajichika. In 2021, Warner Bros. Japan commissioned an anime adaptation produced by Graphinica to bring the high-stakes tournament battles between gods and humanity to the screen. The production was conceived to capitalize on the manga's intense visual style, utilizing a hybrid of 2D and 3D animation to handle the complex character designs and kinetic combat sequences.

The adaptation was directed by Masao Ookubo, who aimed to maintain the visceral impact of the source material while navigating the challenges of a fast-paced combat-heavy narrative. Upon its release on Netflix, the series garnered significant attention for its ambitious premise, though it also faced critique from portions of the audience regarding the quality and fluidity of its animation style. Despite mixed critical reception, the project successfully expanded the franchise's global footprint, solidifying its presence in the competitive landscape of modern seinen anime.
