SKET DANCE: Imouto no Nayami ni Nayamu Ani ni Nayamu Imouto to Sono Nakama-tachi

This special episode, titled Sket Dance: Imouto no Nayami ni Nayamu Ani ni Nayamu Imouto to Sono Nakama-tachi, was released as an original video animation (OVA) in 2013 to accompany the 29th volume of the Sket Dance manga series. Produced by Tatsunoko Production, the project served as a concluding thematic extension for the television anime adaptation, which had completed its primary broadcast run in 2012. It was crafted to provide dedicated fans with a final, humorous look at the Sket-dan club’s dynamics through the lens of a specific narrative centered on the show’s recurring sister-brother tropes.

The creative direction for the OVA maintained the aesthetic and comedic timing established by director Keiichiro Kawaguchi and the series' character designers throughout the television run. By focusing on the intricate and often absurd interpersonal relationships that defined Kenta Shinohara’s original manga, the animation aimed to capture the quintessential spirit of the franchise. It was received by the community as a nostalgic capstone, valued primarily for reuniting the main voice cast and preserving the lighthearted, episodic nature that fans of the series had come to appreciate during the show's tenure.
