Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Battle of Kimluck

Sorcerous Stabber Orphen: Battle of Kimluck was produced by Studio DEEN and released in 2021 as a direct sequel to the 2020 reboot series. The project serves as an adaptation of the popular Kimluck arc from Yoshinobu Akita’s long-running light novel series, which originally debuted in the mid-1990s. The production was part of an effort to modernize the franchise for a new generation of viewers, maintaining the dark fantasy themes and character dynamics that defined the source material's initial success.

The character designs for this iteration were handled by Takahiko Yoshida, who sought to refine the aesthetic established in the 2020 series while staying true to the iconic, sharp-edged style of the original 1994 illustrations by Yuuya Kusaka.
