Soundback: Kanade no Ishi

Soundback: Kanade no Ishi was released as a specialized audio-visual companion piece to the broader Angel Beats! franchise, created by Jun Maeda and produced by P.A. Works. Developed in the wake of the series' immense popularity, this release was designed to bridge the gap between the show’s high-impact musical score and its narrative themes, offering fans a curated experience that highlights the creative interplay between the visual aesthetic and the emotional weight of the soundtrack.

The project was crafted under the oversight of the Key production team, who sought to maintain the high standard of atmospheric design associated with their visual novels and anime adaptations. By focusing on the concept of sound as a central pillar of the series' identity, the creators aimed to deepen the audience’s immersion. Upon its release, it was received as a respectful extension of the source material, valued primarily by collectors and enthusiasts for its high-fidelity presentation and its ability to synthesize the series' distinctive auditory style.
