Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars

Starship Troopers: Traitor of Mars was produced by Sola Digital Arts and released in 2017 as a computer-animated direct-to-video sequel to the 1997 film. The project served as a direct continuation of the 2012 animated film Starship Troopers: Invasion, aiming to bridge the gap between the original cult classic's tone and the modern capabilities of motion-capture technology. The production sought to recapture the satirical spirit of the franchise by reuniting original actors Casper Van Dien and Dina Meyer to voice their iconic characters, Johnny Rico and Dizzy Flores.

The film's visual design was spearheaded by director Shinji Aramaki and producer Edward Neumeier, the latter of whom wrote the original 1997 live-action screenplay. The creative intent was to maintain continuity with the aesthetic established in Invasion while leaning into more expansive, high-stakes military sci-fi set pieces on Mars. Upon its release, the film was received as a niche expansion for the franchise's fanbase, noted primarily for its fidelity to the series' established lore and the return of its primary cast members to their respective roles.
