Now a grown woman, I sit on the train recollecting my childhood. That morning field baking in the sun. Making one bamboo-leaf boat after the other. The smoke from the fireworks spreading like a thick fog. And to those memories I say, “Welcome back.”

This project emerged from the university’s renowned animation department, which emphasizes individual artistic expression and traditional craftsmanship. The film was created as a creative exploration of human connection, reflecting the school's commitment to cultivating unique voices within the Japanese independent animation scene.
The film is celebrated for its delicate aesthetic and evocative storytelling, which prioritize emotional resonance over conventional commercial tropes. The design process focused on fluid movement and nuanced character expressions, hallmarks of the Geidai curriculum.
