Strawberry Marshmallow

Strawberry Marshmallow, known in Japan as Ichigo Mashimaro, was produced by the animation studio Daume in 2005. Based on the manga series by Barasui, the show follows the daily lives of four young girls and their older friend, Nobue, in a slice-of-life narrative. The studio sought to capture the series' distinctive balance of mundane realism and whimsical, often dark humor, utilizing a soft color palette and deliberate pacing to mirror the quiet atmosphere of the source material.
