Strike the Blood Second

Strike the Blood II was produced by the studio SILVER LINK. and released as an original video animation series beginning in 2016. It serves as a direct continuation of the first anime season, which was based on the light novel series written by Gakuto Mikumo. The project was conceived to satisfy the ongoing demand from the fanbase to see the later volumes of the source material adapted, as the narrative complexity of the light novels provided substantial content for continued serialization.

The production sought to maintain the visual consistency established in the 2013 television series while advancing the supernatural and action-oriented tone of the franchise. Designed to capitalize on the success of the Akatsuki Kojou and Himeragi Yukina character dynamic, the OVA format allowed the studio to focus on shorter, arc-based storytelling. Upon its release, it was received as a standard entry in the studio's broader catalog of light novel adaptations, appealing primarily to viewers already invested in the established lore and character interactions.
