Where it came from
Sun Shower was released in 2019 as a promotional original net animation (ONA) produced by Studio Orange. The short was commissioned to showcase the studio's technical capabilities in blending high-quality 3D computer graphics with traditional 2D animation aesthetics, a signature style that the studio has become widely recognized for in modern anime production.
The project served as a visual demonstration of the studio's fluid character animation and atmospheric lighting effects. While it functioned primarily as a showcase for Studio Orange's proprietary production pipeline, it was received positively by the animation community for its aesthetic cohesion and the expressive potential of its character models, further cementing the studio's reputation for innovation in the industry.
