Where it came from
Symphogear G: Non-Songs of the Valkyries was released in 2014 as a special bonus feature bundled with the Blu-ray and DVD volumes of the second season of the Symphogear anime franchise. Produced by studio Satelight, the short was designed to expand upon the lore and character dynamics of the series, providing fans with supplemental content that bridged the intense musical battle sequences characteristic of the show with lighthearted, character-driven vignettes.
The animation and direction followed the established visual style of the second season, maintaining the high-energy aesthetic that director Katsumi Ono and the production team developed to portray the integration of song and combat. As a supplementary release, it was well-received by the dedicated fan base as a way to flesh out the personalities of the series' core cast, though it remained a niche interest primarily serving those who were already deeply invested in the ongoing narrative of the Symphogear universe.
