Where it came from
The Taisu Project was developed by Tencent Penguin Pictures as a narrative showcase for the Taisu engine, a proprietary 3D animation technology. Released as an ONA (original net animation), it was designed to demonstrate the engine's capabilities in real-time rendering, high-fidelity character modeling, and fluid environmental effects, positioning Tencent as a serious contender in the advanced CGI animation market.
The visual direction focuses on a high-octane, futuristic aesthetic that emphasizes lighting and surface texture to highlight the software's technical milestones. While the project serves primarily as a technological proof of concept rather than a traditional episodic series, it was received within the industry as a significant statement of intent regarding the scalability and visual quality of Tencent's internal development tools.
