Tekketsu Gravity

Tekketsu Gravity was produced as a prominent entry in the long-running Gundam franchise, specifically associated with the Iron-Blooded Orphans series. It emerged as part of the extensive line of high-quality plastic model kits, known as Gunpla, which have served as a cornerstone of the mecha hobbyist community since the 1980s. The design philosophy for this series leaned heavily into a gritty, industrial aesthetic, emphasizing mechanical realism and the rugged, modular nature of the mobile suits depicted in the source animation.

The conceptualization of these units was driven by a desire to depart from the sleek, high-tech designs of earlier Gundam iterations, opting instead for a salvaged and functional look. Lead designers aimed to highlight the internal frame structures of the machines, allowing collectors to appreciate the intricate assembly of hydraulic and structural components. Upon release, the series was well-received for its departure from traditional norms, earning praise from modelers for the increased difficulty and satisfaction provided by its complex, multi-layered construction.
