Rimuru has saved the children he was teaching in the Kingdom of Engrassia, and his time as a teacher is nearly over. Then Yuuki, Grandmaster of the Free Union, asks him to get to the bottom of the race for the throne in the Kingdom of Coleus, which is located between Engrassia and the Holy Empire of Lubelius. So Rimuru infiltrates Coleus under the name "Satoru," and he finds a nation at the mercy of not only a battle for succession, but a web of schemes woven by demons and vampires!

Where it came from
Visions of Coleus is a three-episode original video animation series released in 2023, serving as a direct spin-off to the second season of the popular isekai anime That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Produced by the studio 8-bit, the series was created to bridge narrative gaps in the franchise and provide additional context for the events leading into the third season. The project was conceived as a way to flesh out the lore of the Coleus Kingdom, a location originally mentioned in the source material's light novels but never fully explored on screen.
The production utilized the established aesthetic and character designs characteristic of the studio’s ongoing work on the series. By focusing on a self-contained mission for the protagonist Rimuru Tempest, the project aimed to maintain the high-fantasy tone and comedic sensibilities that defined the earlier entries. Upon its release, the OVA was well-received by fans of the franchise for its consistent animation quality and its ability to expand the depth of the world-building without disrupting the primary story arc.
