One thousand years ago, Leonis Death Magnus, undead sorcerer and the greatest of the Dark Lords, entered magical stasis during a climactic battle. When he awakens, he finds a beautiful silver-haired young woman named Riselia standing before him. More shockingly, Leonis has been transformed into a ten-year-old boy! Now he'll have to adapt to this strange era and deal with the twisted monsters called Voids—all while keeping his true powers a secret from his lovely new guardian.

Where it came from
The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy is an anime adaptation of the light novel series written by Yu Shimizu and illustrated by Asagi Tohsaka. Produced by Studio Passione and released in 2023, the series belongs to a popular wave of fantasy light novels that blend school-based settings with supernatural combat and reincarnation tropes, centering on the narrative of a Dark Lord who awakens in the body of a young boy.
The animation production aimed to translate Asagi Tohsaka’s character designs into a dynamic visual format, emphasizing the contrast between the protagonist’s ancient power and his contemporary environment. Upon its release, the adaptation was received as a standard representative of the modern fantasy-action genre, noted by audiences for its adherence to the core aesthetic and tone established by the source material.
